A Little Bit of Gn15
11th January 2008

Having decided to set myself the task over the winter (2007) of finishing off some of my half started projects from the past, the first restarted project is a Gn15 diesel loco I started over two years ago. This lost it's original chassis frame and 'Black Beetle' power unit a while ago and I have rebuilt it on a chassis from a Dapol Drewery shunter (04) kit. This is now a static model, ideally suited to a small diorama.

Small details are quite easy in a large scale, one of the touches I have applied to this loco is a torn cab seat, this is made using cotton wool stretched out over plasticard, then covered in ordinary tissue. Once set I gave it a coat of plastic slurry and once that had set I used a knife point to slash the seat.

I like the 'feel' of working in Gn15 but as yet I haven't actually finished anything in the scale, this is down to a lack of creative thinking on my part. The supply of bits and pieces in store has increased so the day can't be far off!
